Resident honored with Pride
in Crystal Lake Award
November 18, 2011

The Crystal Lake Chamber
of Commerce Board of Directors recently honored Judy
Pelinski of Fresh Look Interiors with the quarterly
Pride in Crystal Lake Award.
Pelinski was recognized for providing her time,
dedication and expertise to the chamber through numerous
committees and events. She has chaired the Community
Harvest Committee, which coordinates fundraising events
throughout the city to raise food and funds for the
Crystal Lake Food Pantry, for the last six years.
The event draws thousands of volunteers throughout the
season and more than 700 volunteers on Thanksgiving Day.
It is a combined effort by the chamber, Crystal Lake
Jaycees and food pantry, and benefits the Jaycees
Share-A-Christmas program as well as the food pantry.
With Pelinski’s help, Community Harvest helped supply
the food pantry with $20,000 and 72,500 pounds of food
last year.
The award is presented quarterly to a business,
organization or individual who has exhibited pride in
Crystal Lake. It is co-sponsored by the chamber and
Schafer Builders.
